Hi, I'm Rhys Davis, inside your radio along the coast for a little more than 30 years now, and even though I was not raised here, "The Harbor" has become my home.
I was born in Tacoma, then my parents drug me around the western part of the state for the first part of my years. I've lived in Bellingham, Port Townsend, Sequim, and Chimacum, before making it back to Tacoma in 6th grade. Dad was a teacher, and eventually mom became one too. No I did not do great in school!!!! BUT GRADUATED !!
Following High School graduation, it was time for Uncle Sam to send me a letter inviting me to join the military. Yea, I'm old enough to have been drafted. I decided to join instead, so I could be trained in what I was interested in, communications. I have been in the communications business ever since. I was trained in radio at Bates technical college, and trained in all aspects of public information at the Defense Information School. The Army then sent me to Germany for nearly three years to be a newspaper editor, and Public Information Officer. Had fun, good beer !!!
Since the Army, I have been working in radio , or newspapers for the past 36 years, arriving in Grays Harbor in 1978. I was going to stay here for 5 years, and then move on in my career, but low and behold, the harbor life grabbed me, and here I am, still inside your radio.
I enjoy working at Jodesha Broadcasting, and in my many years, can say that Boss Bill is one of the best. I love being inside your radio, and thank you for naming me the Daily Worlds "Best Of..." for 13 years in a row.
On a personal note, I have been married, twice, and have two daughters and a step son. The girls are still on the harbor...married, and have given me grandchildren (told you I was old!) I am single, but going to bed early every nite doesn't lend itself to a busy social life. Besides, Boss Bill keeps me working to much....hee...hee...
